Teething

Teething, and more teething, lol. Lots and Lots of chew toys, teach that it's not ok to chew on people. Watch carefully around small children. They mean no harm, but they are teething babies too and it hurts like crazy when they bite you or a kid. They will be teething for a while and at their hardest and losing teeth between 4 and 9 months. They will be losing teeth at this age as well so keep an eye out on the floors. If they teeth on you, holler OWE and hold their mouth shut for a second. He will learn it hurts you. He will learn, it will just be a consistent teaching and learning experience for at least the first year. lol

At the end, they just like to talk with their mouth. They will put your hand in their mouth but want hurt you.  It's like them holding your hand. lol Heavy duty Rubber toys are the best like Kong and Nyla Bones for teething. They cost but will last (a little while longer, lol). It's just a natural process we have to move pass. just like babies.

It will go by quickly. they will keep you distracted by them growing so quickly and playing. :)

Brushing their teeth is simple, it takes about 30 seconds each side a few times a week with dog tooth paste.

  • Focus on the outside of your dog’s teeth, not the inside, as this is where the majority of tartar tends to accumulate
  • Use slow, gentle strokes
  • Do not force your dog’s mouth open—this can make them frustrated and you may lose their cooperation
  • Step 1: First, let your dog taste a small amount of toothpaste. Most dogs will find this enticing enough to hold their attention. Then, using your finger as the ‘brush’, gently rub the toothpaste onto your dog’s teeth and gums to get them accustomed to the process.
  • Step 2: Once your dog is used to this, which may take a week to a month, you can progress to using a piece of gauze to rub against the teeth, getting them used to the rubbing feeling.
  • Step 3: Next, put a pea-sized amount of toothpaste on your toothbrush or finger brush. Gently lift one side of your dog’s upper lip and brush in small, circular motions for a few strokes. Stop, praise your dog, and repeat these steps until you have brushed the outside of all their teeth.
